The ancient port of Kyrenia is closed to the public for six months. The authorities of North Cyprus intend to restore its historical appearance. All cafes, restaurants, shops and kiosks that do not have licenses will be demolished, building facades will be restored, and the bottom of the harbor will be cleared of debris. Restoration, repair and clean-up work will be carried out by the North Cyprus authorities without supervision, consultations and funding from the UN or the EU.
