The Aliens and Immigration (Amendment) Law, which was prepared to address the socio-economic problems caused by informal employment, was published in the Official Gazette on Thursday 27 October.
Following the publication of the “Law on Aliens and Immigration (Amendment)”, which provides for an amnesty for foreigners who are in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and become illegal for various reasons, the applications of foreigners (third nationals) for work permits will be suspended until the end of the amnesty period due to as of Monday, November 7th and new applications will not be accepted.
Amnesty applications must be submitted to the Ministry of the Interior within the 90-day amnesty period for the purpose of registering foreign nationals (third nationals) who, for whatever reason, have not been registered.
