Ercan Airport, the largest in Cyprus by area and the main air gateway of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, has shown a significant increase in passenger traffic.
According to official airport data, between January and August 2025, the airport handled 3,656,122 passengers and 23,995 flights.
Compared to the same period last year, the figures rose sharply:
- passenger traffic increased by 19.93%;
- the number of aircraft movements grew by 24.29%.
For comparison: in the first eight months of 2024, the airport served 3,048,615 passengers and registered 19,305 flights.
With its modern architecture, spacious terminals, and advanced infrastructure, Ercan Airport serves not only as a strategic transport hub but also as an “international showcase” of Northern Cyprus.
