Starting from October 1, Pegasus Airlines launched direct flights from Ercan Airport to the new Istanbul Airport. Residents and visitors of Northern Cyprus can now reach Turkey’s largest international hub every day, making travel, business, and investment much easier. From October 23, the number of flights will increase to two per day.

This event has strategic importance for Northern Cyprus. The new route opens additional opportunities for tourism growth, improves the region’s accessibility, and makes it even more attractive for investors and real estate buyers. Convenient air connections with Turkey’s largest airport mean more direct connections with dozens of countries worldwide, making Northern Cyprus easier and faster to reach.

Pegasus representatives highlighted that the company has been flying from Ercan for nearly 20 years and now holds a leading position in the market with more than 40 flights per week. The expansion of routes underlines the growing importance of Northern Cyprus in international aviation.

For residents and investors, this is excellent news: improved transport infrastructure directly increases the region’s value, stimulates demand for real estate, and supports the island’s economic development. Northern Cyprus continues to strengthen its status as a comfortable and accessible place for living, leisure, and investment.
