Northern Cyprus continues to strengthen its reputation not only as a tourist and investment destination but also as one of the leading educational centers in the Eastern Mediterranean. Serhat Akpınar, the founder-rector of Girne American University (GAU), announced an important achievement: according to the French Eduniversal 2025 ranking, GAU’s Construction Management Department ranked 81st in the world. The university also secured leading positions in nine disciplines among institutions in the Middle East and Eurasia — a ranking that covers 153 countries and evaluates 1,000 universities.

These results directly confirm the high quality of education in Northern Cyprus. According to Akpınar, the ranking reflects GAU’s international competitiveness, scientific productivity, and commitment to academic excellence. Notably, only two universities from the TRNC were included in this prestigious global list, further highlighting their unique status.

For investors in Northern Cyprus real estate, this is an important signal. A strong educational base, high-demand faculties, and an influx of international students create stable long-term rental demand, increase the attractiveness of residential projects, and contribute to property value growth. The presence of international universities is a key reason why more foreign families choose Northern Cyprus for living, studying, and investing.
